Make a round willow Kindling or Log basket over 5 mornings at Art House South Brent! The size you will achieve will depend upon your experience so a new basket maker can expect to make a kindling basket and a basket maker with some experience could go bigger to a log basket should they wish. Do get in touch to chat more about what you'd like to make. Over the course of 5 mornings you will learn how a traditional stake and strand round basket woven step by step. This course is designed for beginners and intermediates. Week 1 Introduction followed by how to weave your base. Week 2 Stake up your basket and consider different weaves for the sides of your basket. Week 3 Begin to weave the sides of you basket. Week 4 Continue from week 3 and consider which border to use. Week 5 Borders and handles followed by a summary of the whole process before taking home you own hand made basket! Running from January 23rd - Feb 27 2025. The course runs every Thursday morning except Feb 20th (half term) £140 for 5 sessions plus a materials charge of £10, so £150 in total. Please do ask if you'd prefer to pay in instalments.
