I love this little basket, its great for beginners and also one for people who'd like to explore framework, have an interest in soft fibres and a love the simple beauty to be found in the humble stick! We will begin by choosing which piece of wood to use as our handle and then learn how to drill to holes to accommodate the ribs for us to weave between. We will explore patterns of weaving with the willow and have opportunity to learn what other plant fibres can be woven into our baskets and how to make cordage or different sorts of plaits. This is a really playful and exploratory workshop. All materials included, but you are encouraged to bring some stick options for your handles as its part of the fun! The wood needs to be dry and around 3-4 cm diameter.
