Develop your basket making skills - A new course at Art House South Brent starting in May ! This brand new course will interest those who have made a couple of baskets already and would like to delve deeper and have opportunity to practice in a supportive small group. Each block of 5 weeks will have a basketry theme such as bases, handles or borders which we will focus on to deepen your knowledge and skills. You will be able to complete a small basket over each of the 5 week blocks and should begin to feel more able and confident to choose and influence the design of your baskets. The focus for this particular 5 week block is sorting willow for baskets and bases. We will focus on how to choose the right willow for the project and what to consider when choosing which bases to weave. Over the 5 weeks you will make a regular round base, a randed base and an oval base before continuing to weave your basket touching on the best ways to weave the upsett and choose borders. There are currently 3 places left on this new course running on the following Tuesday evenings May 7, 14, 21 June 4 and 11th The cost is £135. You may provide your own willow or I will have some for sale at the time of the course.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that cancellations or transfers are not available within 30 days of the start date unless you or I can re fill your place. I would make every effort to fill your place but bear in mind that the shorter the notice, the harder it would be.
