The Zarzo basket is the delightful result of the fusion a of a traditional Spanish basket from Catalonia and Danish design. It is sculptural with a striking profile , while also a very strong and versatile basket with medium capacity.
Its making roots are firmly in the Southwest having been hand woven in Devon with willows grown on the Somerset levels. This particular basket is woven in a variety called Black Maul which has been stripped of its bark to show the white of the core willow . The extra level of labour makes the white willow highly sought after each season. It also has a flash of contrasting green willow which is called 'Dickie Meadows'.
