Shoreline Basket
This locally woven basket is inspired by a traditional Fishing basket from Guernsey. With a shape adapted to everyday use, this curvy willow cross-body basket can flit between handbag and foraging basket with ease. Woven in a willow variety named ‘Dickie Meadows’ known for its silvery green hues and long slender length and is one of my favourite varieties.
The soft vegetable tanned leather handle in tangerine gives a gentle connection to the brightly coloured buoys used in harbours and along the shoreline of our coastal communities. The strap is also available in a beautiful rich conker brown.
This handle is made from Seasoned Hazel grown in my garden in Devon.
