Haytor Basket
This contemporary hand-woven basket features a robust, sculptural form, crafted from the soft green hues of 'Dickie Meadows' willow and the rust-toned 'Flanders Red', two varieties whose colours complement each other beautifully. This design came to the contemporary basket scene via a polish Basket maker initially and has since seen several creative developments. The addition of the curved base creates such a lovely silhouette; though it's tough to make, it's worth the effort!
The zig zag weave creates stunning shadows and allows glimpses of the contents while keeping the basket light but very strong. A beautiful basket for the fireside or for display or both!
